Mips is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel

We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal function and support the business across a broad range of commercial and compliance‑related matters in an international, listed B2B environment.
About the role
In this role, you will work closely with the General Counsel and be part of a small, agile legal team of two, and act as a key legal partner to the business, with a particular focus on commercial contracts, intellectual property, and operational compliance. You will have a high degree of responsibility and visibility, while operating within a clear governance and decision‑making framework.
Mips legal function plays a key role in the organization by providing business oriented legal advice. As Senior Legal Counsel at Mips you will work close to the business and be a trusted colleague who will contribute with your knowledge and enthusiasm.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial contracts & IP
Provide legal support in commercial matters, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements (such as NDAs and customer, supplier and partnership contracts)
Act as key legal contact for licensing matters together with the General Counsel
Compliance
Responsible for compliance programs (GDPR, anti-corruption, whistleblowing, AI-related matters)
Maintain and implement policies, procedures and training, and support governance frameworks
Marketing law & product liability
Provide legal support in marketing law and product-related matters in an international context
Supporting Responsibilities
Support M&A, business projects and capital markets processes
Manage external counsel and identify and manage legal and regulatory risks
Provide legal support to subsidiaries across the Group and contribute to ensuring consistent legal practices in an international context
Contract management
Own and develop contract management processes, templates and standards
Improve contract lifecycle management and commercial discipline
Your background:
Master’s degree in law
Approximately 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably combining:
background from a law firm, and
in‑house experience from an international company.
Solid experience of commercial agreements and compliance matters.
Familiarity with IP and licensing issues is highly valued.
Experience from working in an international or regulated environment is a strong merit.
Fluency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
You are a pragmatic and business-oriented lawyer who enjoys finding practical, solution-focused ways forward. You are comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your work, while also having the judgment to know when to involve others. You communicate clearly and confidently, with a natural ability to turn legal complexity into practical advice that the business can act on. You are well-structured and able to handle multiple matters at once, and you have a genuine interest in how technology – including digital tools and AI – can support and improve legal work.

The role is based at the company’s headquarters in Täby, which will relocate to new and modern premises in Frösunda in end of 2026. You will report to the General Counsel.
