Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Counsel to lead the corporate legal and risk department. You will provide strategic legal advice to senior management and the business in general, ensure compliance with international laws and regulations and manage a team of legal professionals and our risk manager. You will also support the CEO and Chairman of the Board on matters relating to the Board.

The role reports directly to the President and CEO and is a member of Group Management. The role is based out of Stockholm and includes travel.

The legal team currently consists of the General Counsel, three legal professionals and one risk manager located in Sweden and Italy. The Electrolux Professional Group is a global business. As such, the legal team collaborates as one team with stakeholders across the world in various jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead the legal and risk function of the Group, be responsible for the corporate governance of the Group and act as Secretary to the Board of Directors
• As part of Group Management, you are expected to drive the evolution of our company and to develop and implement legal strategies to protect the company's interests and mitigate risks
• Manage the legal and risk department including the inhouse legal and risk professionals and an extensive network of external experts
• Operationally manage legal matters and projects including being a key contributor in our M&A processes
• Collaborate with other departments to provide legal support for business initiatives and projects, as well as to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in the countries where we operate
• Stay updated on relevant legal developments and industry trends

Skills and Requirements

• Experienced lawyer with at least 15-20 years of legal experience, experience from a multinational corporate environment is a requirement, as well as very good understanding of Swedish corporate governance and board work in a listed environment
• Proven track record of managing a team and providing strategic legal advice in a multinational corporation
• Strong knowledge and broad experience of international corporate and commercial law including M&A, litigation, regulatory compliance, competition/antitrust and risk management
• Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
• Highest possible integrity and ethical standards, structured and with high attention to detail, while still being a pragmatic decision-maker
• Proficiency in English and Swedish, any additional language is a merit
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
